Friday is Buy Nothing Day
The day after the high holy day of local food (as El calls it) is the annual protest against Black Friday. This is one holiday that I do celebrate wholeheartedly....
Stay home. Bake bread. Read a book. Whatever you do - no shopping.
Yay! Although... my mom just informed me Goodwill is having a $1 sale on Friday, so I may go there ... but that & Salvation Army would be it, if I venture out at all. My 2 favorite stores, and I did get great deals at Salvo the one year I happened to stop in on "Black Friday". Does shopping at thrift stores on Black Friday count? Lol.

I agree completely. I just started reading "Radical Homemaker" by Shannon Hayes. A great book. Very impowering. Happy Thanksgiving!

I like this new holiday tradition and you can be assured that we will be joining in and staying home.:)
Hi Barb - I'll put that book on hold at the library. You and I have similar book tastes.
Hi Penny - interesting... do thrift stores count? I dunno! We'll say No just for you.
Hi Mr. H - I'm honored you stopped by!
